Drama Kids develops speaking skills, confidence, and acting skills in children and young adults from ages 4 – 18. We take great pride in our program and in seeing the results in our students.

In order to grow, students need to gain independence and self-esteem, yet work as a team. They want to be challenged and yet feel supported and praised for their efforts. All of these qualities are wonderfully built through drama and in particular, through our internationally recognized Drama Kids program.

Our students come from all walks of life. Some have previous drama experience, but most do not. Our Drama Kids instructors are experienced teachers, extensively trained in the Drama Kids program. They have abundant energy, enthusiasm, and a special friendliness that always puts new students immediately at ease and ready to jump into the scene!

Classes meet at  regular locations throughout norther Nassau County on Long Island for one hour each week during the school year. We hold classes at a variety of convenient locations and times that best fit the busy schedules of today’s students and their parents. Our exclusive program format allows new students to begin almost anytime during the year. Even better, tuition is prorated based on remaining class schedules and there are NO registration fees.

Joining Drama Kids is a very special experience. We are committed to developing our students through an outstanding, high quality program taught by our dynamic teaching staff. Please call or email us for enrollment details today!

Testimonials from our students and educational partners:

It has been a pleasure having Drama Kids work with our students this year.
Being the after school program coordinator as well as a parent of one of your students, I get a well-rounded perspective of the Drama Kids. From the after school program coordinators perspective I can tell that your program is efficient and carefully designed.

From the parents perspective I have watched my child as well as others in the class grow in self-confidence. Michelle has loved every minute of the class. She and the other children I car pool with excitedly discuss all the events of the days class.
So, as you can tell I would highly recommend Drama Kids as a parent and as
after school coordinator.   I look forward to another year of Drama Kids.

Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!  My Alison has really come out of her shell by attending your program.  She is no longer afraid of making class presentations.  I couldn't be more pleased with the results!

This is a really wonderful program! Jennifer is enjoying it so much.  What a pity you don't do it for adults!

I have now implemented Drama Kids in three schools in the past 2 years as part of our after-school program initiative. Drama Kids has a top-notch developmental curriculum. Not only do the kids have fun, but it really does develop their speaking skills and self-esteem.  The teachers are reliable and take full responsibility for the kids, and the springtime productions are much anticipated and culminate a yearlong development effort.

Hi Jerome - Just wanted to drop a note to let you know my three boys are enjoying your Drama Kids program very much.  They look forward to going every week. They have had quite a few opportunities to use what they learned.   One of my sons participated in a presentation for our Board of Education and the other ran for Student Council. The confidence and voice projection skills they learned in your class were put to good use.   My husband and I have both commented on what a fantastic way you have with all the children. Specifically we admired how quickly you learned all of their names and the individual compliments the children receive each week.  Your classes are filled with enthusiasm and energy. Your efforts are very much appreciated.  We recommend you highly to everyone. Keep up the great program!

“While we were on vacation, my daughter and I went onstage during a talent show, my daughter was confident, self-assured and projected when she spoke; she never would have been able to do that before attending Drama Kids. She was too shy.”

“You should have seen Olivia during the party scene of Nutcracker, she was really acting believably and honestly, what you teach in Drama kids has a big influence on her.”

“The Drama Kids Program is incredible! Both of my kids love it. I can see them learning skills they will use for a lifetime. And laughing and loving it while they do. What a gift it is to have it in our area.”

Overheard after Class…

“Class is over already?” “I don't want to go home yet!” “This is my daughter's favorite after school activity.” “My son enjoys this more than anything else he does.” “My daughter cries if she has to miss Drama Kids.”

Hey Jerome!
Just wanted to keep you posted on Conner. He tried out for a short film by Courtney Sommers (NYU film student) and got a small part. They filmed over two weekends (intense long days) and he loved it. Out of fifty kids only six spoke. Four were actors....and then there was Conner!  He was cast as a bully and worked with the actor that plays Vito Jr. on the Sopranos. The screening is in January. I'll keep you posted. Of course, we credit his confidence and comfort level to Drama Kids!

Hello Jerome and Michelle,

I just wanted to send you a quick note to thank you for such great success with Drama Kids. This is the first year my daughter has been enrolled in Drama Kids and my daughter just loves going week after week.  She is enrolled in a dance class before drama, and initially I thought two back to back classes might be too much for her as she is 6 years old. I asked her in the beginning of October if she wanted to continue with drama, and she positively replied, I love my drama class. Each week she speaks more clearly, has more confidence and voice projection, and her articulation is improving. Even a friend that hadn't seen her in a while commented that her speech had drastically improved and attributed it to the fact that she was getting older and more mature. I commented, do you think the drama class has anything to do with her improvements? Of course it did.  Her instructor Kimberly is fantastic, so energetic, bubbly and exciting to see each week. Kimberly makes the children WANT to come back week after week. You can see from the children's faces that they are so happy to be in drama class.  Once in a while, at the end of class we get to see the children perform, and boy, they are so excited to show us what they have learned. The compliments the children receive at the end of class are definitely encouraging.  One more point, when we needed to go to another site for a makeup, my daughter walked right in, no fear to perform in front of all new children.  I was very surprised to see that in a 6 year old in a new facility, with all new children.

Thanks to you both for a great drama program!!! Can't wait to see the children's performance.

Best Regards,

To Whom It May Concern:

I would like to take a moment to express my support for the Vernon's PTA's efforts to bring Drama Kids to the children.  I greatly realize the difficulty in establishing an after school program and the work that goes into making it happen.

As a Mother of a child who is attending Drama Kids privately, I can only say that you are providing our Oyster Bay children with a wonderful learning experience that transfers to the classroom.  For instance, during my son Christopher's second grade Reader's Theatre, I saw how confident, articulate, and comfortable he was to be up on stage.  In fact, a few parents commented to me on how they thought his drama lessons were really paying off.  I greatly enjoyed seeing my son do such a wonderful job, and putting to use skills I know he learned in Drama.  Moreover, did you know that one of the National Spelling Bee words was Hukilau, which was the name of a song my son sang in last year's production?

Finally, I would like to say that it is my hope that Drama Kids will still be an option to the Vernon Students so my son can enjoy this after school activity with his school friends.  It is also my hope that the Oyster Bay School District will support the year end performance, so we can invite all our friends in the community to see Christopher perform in the Chicken Hearted Fox and see how wonderful this after school activity is.

Sincerely,

Suzanne Paolucci
